After enjoying a restful night's sleep and a delicious breakfast, there are many delightful ways to spend your day.  Within minutes are delightful restaurants and quaint shops filled with antiques, pottery and crafts.  Roadside apple houses abound with fresh homemade cider and apples from nearby orchards.  

• Lull the morning away on the porch swing.

• Stroll the banks of a rushing mountain river, clear as crystal, and filled with boulders deposited during the Glacier Age.

• Hike deep into Chimney Rock Park and picnic at the foot of a 400' waterfall.

• Enjoy swimming, fishing and boating on Lake Lure.

• Browse through quaint shops filled with antiques, pottery, and crafts in Chimney Rock Village.

• Drive the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

• Visit the magnificent Biltmore Estate and the many antique shops and art galleries of Asheville.

• Enjoy horseback riding (year round)

• Relax while fly fishing from the rocks behind the Inn

• Try nearby skiing and snow tubing (in the winter)

• Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the Rocky Broad River.

     To some, this may look like a wall in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint.  To others, especially fans of the movie "Dirty Dancing" starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray, this wall has great significance. 

     In 1987 "Dirty Dancing" was filmed in nearby Lake Lure.  When the movie set was dismantled, the former owners of the inn obtained the wall boards from one of the cottages featured in the movie.  Later, when the inn was renovated, the boards were used to construct the outside wall of the Cottage Room, where they remain as a permanent piece of nostalgia from the movie.
